Domaine de Millepetit is a working farm and wine domaine with its origins dating back to the beginning of the 13C when the French built a chain of observation towers along the Aude River to keep an eye on the Spanish. The Chateau was built in the mid 1800s as part of a wine domaine and the 6th generation owners now visit from Paris for their Easter and Summer vacations. Our Cottage is part of the original stable block which is set one row back (about 50m) from the Canal.

We are located just 12 km from Carcassonne train station and 19 km from the Airport.

The Cottage is 53m² and a delightful hideaway over two floors and can accommodate two people in a double room. The lounge has French and Satellite TV and free Wi Fi. Behind the lounge there is a completely private outdoor courtyard with a gas BBQ, which is ideal for a peaceful breakfast or an afternoon snooze.

The stylish kitchen/diner is well appointed with an oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and a family size fridge-freezer. The Cottage kitchen has everything you need to enable you to enjoy the wonderful local seasonal produce. There is also a washing machine and plenty of storage space. Adjacent to the kitchen is the modern shower room with extra-large shower and under basin storage.

Bed linen, bath, hand and tea towels are all provided along with tea, coffee, oil and vinegar and a few herbs and spices to get you started.

We are happy to accept well behaved pets however, please ask before you book.

By the Canal you have access to our own charming mooring and garden and four communal terraces with tables for that quiet dinner. A perfect place to watch life on the Canal pass you by while sipping a glass of Millepetit’s own wines which can be purchased from the ‘cellar, OK Kitchen, door’!

Millepetit is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and apricot orchards and you can buy wines, fruit and vegetables direct from the Domaine’s market gardener or the colourful food markets at Trèbes or Carcassonne.

We are ideally located for cycling, hiking, walking, boating and bird watching; exploring the historical Cathar castles; wine tasting, wild swimming, canoeing or just experiencing life on a working French farm.

From Millepetit you can walk along the Canal to Trèbes in about 40 minutes and enjoy a drink at our favourite wine and tapas’ bar, Les Vignes de Bacchus or have dinner beside the beautiful Port De Plaisance in one of the 5 restaurants. Carcassonne is just over an hour by cycle or a 20 minute drive.

A car is recommended as there is no public transport and bicycles can be hired in Trèbes and Carcassonne.
